Steve McQueen - A Tribute to the King of Cool
by Marshall Terrill

Marshall Terrill’s long-awaited tribute to the small-town rebel who continues to keep so many millions spellbound is coming to bookstores for the holiday season.

Steve McQueen: A Tribute to the King of Cool (Dalton Watson Fine Books), tells the actor’s story in chronological order through the eyes of those who knew him best: family, friends, co-stars, business associates, acquaintances and adoring fans from around the globe. Written in passage form, each person brings a different view to the man and legend, presenting him in an unsurpassed 360-degree perspective.

“It’s unique in its presentation because it reads like a biography, but it’s really a photo and tribute book,” Terrill said, who has spent nearly three years compiling the information. “There’s really nothing else on the market quite like it. I know it will please McQueen fans.”

Accompanying the 200 passages are hundreds of photos taken of McQueen throughout his life and movie career, many seen here for the first time, as well as personal items, documents and movie memorabilia.

The book will also include a foreword by Barbara McQueen, a Steve McQueen family tree and quotes by several Hollywood luminaries.

Bentley's Great Eight
by Karl Ludvigsen

This book by prize-winning author Karl Ludvigsen offers auto enthusiasts a time-travelling adventure in its description of the evolution of the V-8 engine. It begins more than a century ago when Rolls-Royce built one of the world’s first V-8 engines. The saga races through decades of engineering experiment and creativity as Bentley, famed for its racing exploits at Le Mans, exploited the exotic potential of supercharging. When the fortunes of Rolls-Royce and Bentley combined in the 1950s, both needed a new engine, and hitherto-secret reports and exclusive interviews take the reader behind the scenes of the new V-8’s creation.

Liddypool
Birthplace Of The Beatles

by David Bedford

LIVERPUDLIAN PENS NEW PHOTO/GUIDE BOOK ON THE BEATLES

When it comes to the Beatles’ history, Liverpool lore is a bit like Hollywood: the legend seems to be told and printed more often than the truth.

Liverpudlian and Beatles historian David Bedford has penned an entertaining and informative new book on the Beatles that will not only give readers a glimpse of the real Liverpool, but hopes to separate fact from fiction.

Growing up in post-1960s Liverpool – or “Liddypool” as John Lennon renamed it – one cannot avoid The Beatles. They are “Here, There and Everywhere.” Much to Bedford's dismay authors were writing about The Beatles’ hometown, and getting their facts wrong.

“To understand The Beatles, you have to understand Liverpool,” says Bedford, who spent nearly a decade compiling Liddypool: Birthplace of the Beatles (Dalton Watson Fine Books, Ltd). “Most authors who have written about the Beatles write about Liverpool from their computers in another country. All of my research was done the old-fashioned way – by visiting sites, talking to eyewitnesses, collecting stories from friends and acquaintances, and viewing hundreds of documents and previously unseen photographs.”

Bentley: Fifty Years of the Marque
Thirty five years ago Dalton Watson, now Dalton Watson Fine Books, first published  Bentley: Fifty Years of the Marque by Johnnie Green. The book was received enthusiastically by the cognoscenti, so much so, that to meet demand it went through several re-prints. Since then, much more background information about the featured cars has become available and so Dalton Watson commissioned three leading Bentley experts, Peter Hageman, Bernard King and Martin Bennett to comprehensively re-edit the captions and index.

Bentley Motors- On The Road
By noted Rolls-Royce and Bentley author Bernard King.

This book beautifully reproduces the rare promotional  magazines that Bentley Motors (1931) Limited published in the late 1930s called " On the Road". There were 13 issues of the magazine and it was designed for current and prospective owners. It was heavily illustrated and features Derby Bentleys in use by current owners with fashionable backdrops. After an immense amount of research, noted Derby specialist, Bernard King has been able to identify most of the cars. The magazine is very hard to find and very few people have complete sets. It may be noted that the comparable Rolls-Royce Bulletin of the time is rare but is more widely available.
The publication of such a Bentley book will be of great interest and value to collectors and enthusiasts, particularly when coupled with the identification of the cars and the provision of many indices and tables.

Released in two volumes with slipcase.
